These towing mirrors are expensive, there is no doubt about that. Having heard plenty of reports of cheaper mirrors causing cracks in the surround of the car wing mirrors due to the smaller surface area under the clamps, I'm positive that the Emuk mirrors are a lot cheaper than even a single replacement to a car wing mirror. The clamp mechanism of these mirrors spreads the load across a much greater area, avoiding cracks to the car. As the Emuk mirrors are specific to a vehicle, the fit it excellent, with no compromises. On my BMW X4, the indicator lights built into the mirror are still visible through cutouts in the Emuk mirror. As a final bonus, the Emuk mirror does not shake, it's virtually as stable as the car mirrors themselves. Cheaper mirrors I've tried shake so much it's difficult to see anything in them with any degree of clarity. We have an 8 foot wide caravan, and found these mirrors wide enough to see past the van without needing the extension pieces that are available. This obviously will depend on the width of the tow car.Read full review

due to the shape of bmw door mirrors its really hard to get towing mirrors that fit without scratches or damage to occur i tried various makes but wasnt happy with any of them then i tried emuk ok they are more expensive but worth every penny would highly recomend these mirrors if you are a bmw owner

So these are actually excellent quality mirrors which fit solidly to the vehicle for which they are designed, but then they are well over £100, which just seems excessive. Then there is the width. My X3 is already a large car, yet these protrude probably 30-40cm from the existing mirrors, which must make it the widest thing on the road..?? They are like antlers! It’s really too wide for my use, and I was worried about tearing up hedges and/or clothes-lining pedestrians, plus my trailer is not that wide. So I have cut them down, although this seems a shame with a product that costs so much. Nevertheless they work better than cheaper alternatives. My advice is try to buy used/cheap and adjust as you need.

These mirrors are virtually "made to measure" for BMW especially X series models, where the fitting of any other type of mirror would damage the plastic housings. The clamp on type of mirrors don't work well on newer BMW mirrors because of a 6mm. lip and mirror design. These mirrors are a good fit, tighten without damage and are rock steady even at speed. Yes they are expensive in comparison, but you get what you pay for. Solid, well made, robust, effective and trouble-free.
