When researching this radar detector, you can get very confused because apparently Escort released this originally with a poor quality shell that was prone to splitting. The radar detector I received from Buydig was the updated version and it definitely has a solid, quality feel to it. I've used it for about 2 weeks now and while there is some falsing from blind spot monitoring in the Chicago area, it is very minimal once you get outside of the densely populated areas. I used it today on a run to Bloomington, IL and the only times it went off were when there were police radaring. The falsing in the city is getting better with time as it learns and blocks signals that aren't radar. Overall I'm quite happy with the purchase and would recommend this to others.

It will be hard for me to judge this product as i realized after i used for 3 months that i should have got international version. But whats the point on having two versions? Anyway, the product is good, the screen shaded a bit and i cant see the screen now during day time and the range could be better. I thought to replace it with redline but now i lost a bit of trust in escort and radar detectors. Got few times fines from radars where escort couldn't get them at all. Also, asked the support from Escort and they said that there are radars which can't be detected. Whats the point in having it if it doesn't detect radars. Anyway, i would say drive safe, slow and save money.

This is a very good radar detector. It picks up every speed trap and police officer miles before I see them giving me ample notice to... continue following the posted speed limits ;). Having Bluetooth is not a necessity so if you're strapped for cash just buy the regular max but if you got 50-100 extra dollars it does add some nice features when you connect it to your phone that would be otherwise unavailable without a Bluetooth smart-cord.

With a new highway and other expressways that just opened in my travel areas, the cops are getting them left and right!!! But not me!! And I guarantee you it would have been, my car feels like 35 when I'm going 60 :( this guy keeps me on my toes, and the app is EXTREMELY helpful in warning me ahead of time before the radar actually picks up signal. The cops like to move up and down the roads a bit in my town. The app (and feedback from other users like myelf) are crucial elements that in the end, make this product well worth the premium. Be realistic and you will justify the purchase; and be glad you did.

This is one of the first detectors I bought when I got my Camaro SS. It has been great in alerting me when radar is in use, and sensitive enough so that you have ample time to do a speed sanity check, The detector has had great reviews and I agree with all of them. The only thing I would warn you about is Laser, while it picks up laser, by the time you are alerted, it may be too late, from what I have seen in real life, laser is usually augmented with radar, so, when it alerts...slow down. False alerts, you get some of them, the software is getting better. My take is, better a false alert now and then, instead of missing a real alert. As you learn to read (listen) to the tones, you'll be able to discriminate the types of alerts and ignore the false positives. Always Drive Safe, and Drive Aware!Read full review
