This tool might just about remove a plastic worm off a motor such as a Triang Hornby X04, but I doubt it would worry anything made of brass or steel with a push fit. The pins in the end of the threaded parts are not straight and one has a jagged end that needed dressing with a diamond file.

Does the job but sometimes there isn't a lot of room between the worm gear and the motor so you have to break the end off the motor which presumably isn't a problem as I expect your motor has failed anyway. This is not the fault of the extractor tool it's just the way it is. I've managed to extract 4 worm gears so far and put them on to new motors

Seems well engineered, however I'm a little concerned about the insubstantial "business end". Time will tell how well it stands up to use.

Have tried the gear puller and it definitely does work took a gear of a 380 motor with no problems good value for money
