About this product

Product Information

When Meredith Mitchell bumps into her old schoolfriend Rachel Hunter at the Chelsea Flower Show it doesn't take Meredith long to realise that she and the effortlessly self-confident blonde have even less in common now than they had as teenagers. Apart from one thing - Meredith's companion, Chief Inspector Markby. For to the embarrassment of all concerned, except of course the self-possessed Rachel, Meredith's old schoolfriend turns out to have been Markby's former wife, from whom he was divorced years before in less than friendly circumstances. The meeting with Rachel is not the only surprise the Flower Show has in store for Markby - before the afternoon is out he has a death on his hands. All too quickly he and Meredith find themselves drawn into the plush, apparently well-run world Rachel and her second husband created for themselves in their Cotswold home, Malefis Abbey, a world which Markby becomes increasingly convinced harbours a highly skilled murderer ...

Item was just as described (near new) and I had excellent communication with this seller. The item arrived much sooner than expected, which was a nice surprise. The only downside was the item could have been packaged better as the packaging was torn in places, exposing the the dust jacket of the book when I received it. Overall, a positive transaction.

Package arrived as would expect in good condition & promptly from when ordered all items in great condition & as or as described in the description & for a good descent price & what better recomendation for a seller who provided a standard of service expected not just in a reasonable prompt delivery, price, & also a satisfied satisfaction in the quality of the items previously supported & recommended by other customer recommendations from ebay feedback but to want to be a repeat customer.

  • Engrossing, with twists and turns and an unexpected ending!

It is a hot day - Meredith and Markby have gone to the Chelsea Flower Show seeking some plants for the garden. Then Meredith meets a woman she knew from her school days and also her husband. Unknown to Meredith the woman is actually Alan Markby ex-wife who he is divorced from! But the woman's husband becomes ill with warning - a heart attack- and dies! On examination it is discovered it was not of natural causes but murder! The murdered man had a dubious past which the reader will find out when the book is read. Meredith and Markby must investigate with great care! There is a murderer in the area and the murderer must be discovered and quickly! It has the usual twists and turns with an unexpected ending! It was well-worth reading!
