    Oil pump

    I bought this pump thinking I'd probably just use it a couple of times, so it didn't matter if it wasn't brilliant quality as the price was good. When it arrived I could tell it was better than I'd hoped for. I've used it for 4x diff oil changes and 2x transfer box oil changes so far. It's easy to use and makes it easy to get to a hard to reach filler.

    Mower oil change.

    The suction oil remover worked really well to remove used oil from my Mountfield 45SP mower, however the plastic tube supplied was to large to fit down into the engine through the filler cap, which meant I had to buy a smaller diameter tube to fit inside the one supplied, no big deal but would be nice to supply a variety of tubes for a few pence extra.

    Gearbox oil suction pump sorted central heating problem

    Bought the pump to change the gear box oil in the transmission of the JCB 3CX, worked great. Central heating had a partially blocked feed pipe to one of the radiators as it was not getting hot, used the pump to suck the sludge / rust out and clear the blockage with no system drain down or replacement pipe work. Overall a good purchase.

    It could be improved by A stating the tube outside diameter B. offering a short length (say 6") of smaller dia tube that is a tight fit inside the original, which would allow easy filling of smaller dia. filling holes.

    Most useful.

    If you have a 4X4 vehicle and, you do your own servicing, this is a very hand item. I have used mine to change the oil in both gear boxes, the diffs and swivel hubs. When you have drained the axles etc and replaced the drain plug, simply pour the amount of oil into the pump gun and then pump the oil into the filler hole of the axle/gearbox. Will need cleaning out after use if, like me, you only use it once or twice a year.
