Written at one of the more turbulent times in his life, this is simply Ginger at his best. Not as musically heavy as his songs with the Wildhearts, but this is no lightweight offering. This is still very much a rock album, and Ginger's trademark chorus's are very much in evidence. I guarantee that it is impossible to listen to Yeah, Yeah, Yeah or This is only a Problem a few times without them sticking firmly in your head. And as usual, these aren't just hooks with no substance behind them, they are a glimpse into the mind of a man going through troubled times, but coming out the other side much stronger and wiser for it. Strength of Heart indeed.
Gingers most honest heartfelt set of songs so far, Written in the wake of a relationship breakup a lot of these songs deal with the pain of losing someone you love.. You would think that this would make this a depressing set of tunes, But no it's painful lyricly but the music is uplifling and beautiful in places. If your a Wildhearts fan you'll love this album if not you still might. Comes Highly recommended
