The printer was easy to set up and has three methods to connect to PC / Network. It produces good fast print and scans equally fast. The HP software is however the usual poor standard and despite using the enclosed disc, it requires a PC connection to the internet to download exactly same files and drivers. Lots of HP crapware that needs to be deleted. The printer itself is big and bulky so needs a lot of space. It is not heavy due to rather flimsy plastics and absence of metal components. The fold down doors and flaps demonstrate where costs have been saved. Overall with the HP cashback it was a good buy but genuine cartridges are as expected - expensive. There is no Instant Ink option. Warranty is extendable to 3 Years but return to base probably makes it worthless due to high return charges. Read full review

This printer went through its self-setting-up routine without any problem and printed a test page of satisfactory quality. However, the driver, downloaded from the HP website, refused to install. I tried again with a different computer (running on the same OS) and that didn't work. I then tried with two other computers, one running on Vista, one on 10, using the correct driver for each, again a total failure, thus rendering the printer useless. I activated a return, which was accepted. I then bought an Epson printer, which came with an installation disk. The driver etc installed from the disk with no problems and the printer was ready for use in about ten minutes. I've had problems with HP products before now and I'd think very carefully before buying HP again.

The printer arrived quite quick considering it came from the US. However, when I set it up, it told me the printhead was missing or incorrectly installed. Being naive, I increased the warranty on it just incase I needed to get HP to repair it. Turns out all was okay. I just needed a quick YouTube video, use some muscle grease and wake the beast's printhead. The smart printer with its touch screen display tells me that am now in the "big leagues". It spits out pages quick (A4) so far am yet to print in A3. If you are ready for A3, then this is your machine.

It's a good printer in its class but the setup of the software on my PC is not easy to understand. Fortunately the HP Print & Scan Doctor tool addresses any problems - but only after you have struggled
