The HS-1115K is a versatile kit that comes in a nice sturdy box and that includes a number of accessories. Further accessories can be readily obtained and at reasonable cost, which is a useful feature. It is easy to fill with Butane and also easy to ignite. Good heat is available at the tip and can be controlled as well, meaning that outdoor soldering can be done, provided the wind is not too strong. Care is needed using the hot knife, as too much pressure applied while melt cutting through plastic etc., can distort the cage around the glowing element. In a worst case scenario, this cage can bend and even fracture off, destroying the soldering function! All should go well if only gentle pressure is used. Hopefully in the future, the cage section around the element will become available as an additional accessory, meaning that a damaged iron can be fully restored, rather than replaced. Colour is not always the same as advertised but this is not a major issue. All round, this is a great value kit that works very well indeed.Read full review

Filled with butane and it worked straight out of the box. Very good pencil flame for intricate heating and handy varied attachments for soldering. Box keeps all the bits in place worth the small extra cost. Can feel a little lightweight in the hand but good for the more delicate jobs. Handy tool to have in your workbox.
