Bought this thinking it might be the Hama Traveller 117 renamed, which is dearer, but it isn't quite the same. The legs don't extend beyond the limits of the pivot, but this isn't really a problem for me. It is 117cm high when extended and feels very strong and well made - better than budget tripods from the likes of Jessops. I've used it a few times now and you have to get used to tightening the ball grip quite tight otherwise the camera will droop (assuming it's not a light one). In any case, it feels really solid when it is put up and is small enough to carry easily. The foam at the top of the legs makes a good grip to hold on to when you move the camera/tripod around. It would be nice if it was lighter, but then it probably wouldn't feel as solid. All in all a good performer.

Nice compact and leightweight tripod, very stable, extends to a resonable height, easy to use ball head. Cons. The ball head can become loose after prolonged use and I have had the camera fixing plate come loose on one of these tripods before, but with regular checks and a quick tighten of any screws remedies this problem.

Good tripod, light weght and strong enourh, but headball may be better with quick release plate. Very easy to use and not need a large space to keep it or take it in the bag.
