Does the job
I was a bit sceptical that it would be strong enough to remove the front wheel bearings on my Ford Kuga, the bearings are 82mm diameter wide and they recommend you use a Hydraulic press to get them out. Well it pushed out the old bearing without too much effort, the hardest part is keeping the hub assembly level while you do it (due to the awkward shape). I changed another bearing in a spare hub I have, using a vice and it took me about 40 minutes to take the old one out and put the new one in. Next I will try it with the Hub on the car and see how hard it is to take one out that way. This saved me taking my car to a garage and has already paid for itself.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Feels poor quality
I found with this kit that the nut was near seizing when in use(that's with the washer on as well). The treaded bar don't have any strength. it feels like the thread is going to cross. So you back off. So I purchased a 12t press and incorporated the other components. The plates are good. however the over quality of the product is quite poor.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Comprehensive, but basic
This is an excellent kit for very occasional use. It has a big range of sizes and combinations, but there isn't a thrust bearing, and the thread is very basic, meaning it's hard work to use! I only used it to.pull in a new bearing, having already used a 5ton hydraulic puller to push out the old one. I don't think this kit would have had enough force to remove the old bearing. Incredible value!!
Most of these kits are at least 3 times the cost. I bought this as I thought it was cheap, but if it only lasted long enough to change 2 bearings it would be ok. Wow, was I wrong! I was amazed how good the quality is. It's sturdy and worked brilliantly. The case is good too. No reason the whole kit shouldn't last a lifetime. An absolute bargain. Saved me a fortune. Hell of a product
Due to the ever increasing cost of maintaining my E46 BMW I decided to start doing the work myself. The rear of the car was in need of attention. One side had a wheel bearing gone and the other had a rusted dust plate meaning the handbrake shoes wouldn't stay attached meaning MOT failure. To get to the backplate I needed to remove the hub flange which would destroy the other bearing. After a few hours of graft later and the two hub flanges were off. Time to remove the bearing. All I can say is this piece of kit is bloody brilliant. The hardest part is selecting the correct plates to remove and install the bearing because the kit comes with a big selection to suit probably every bearing size on today's cars and vans. Once you have it set up according to the very clear and simple instructions supplied the bearing comes out like a treat. The same can be said for the installation of the new bearing and also the hub flange. This kit makes short work of it all. Do yourself a favour and clean every inch of your running gear and copper grease everything. You will thank yourself afterwards. The kit is made from sturdy and strong material that I felt comfortable with and had no worries that it may not cope with the stress of the process. Came packaged in a good sturdy box. All in all it took me 10hrs for both sides to be complete from start to finish. Given to a garage this would have cost me around £400 in labour just for the bearings to be replaced. The parts on top of that would have taken it to £550+ grand total. I spent £210 and spent a weekend with the air blue and a few bruises and cuts but look what I replaced for that £210 thanks to this kit because without it I couldn't have got to any of the parts to do it. Both sides: Wheel bearings, dust plates, suspension springs, hand brake shoes and all spring kits for both sides, A new hub flange because the one was a right mess So to conclude: The above for £210 with the assistance of this brilliant piece of kit or; £550+ for a garage to replace 2 wheel bearings at hourly rate.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Excellent tool for the money.
very comprehensive kit, can be used for bearings and bushes very pleased how it is presented in box and ease of use, use some oil on the thread and washer to avoid friction when in use..
