In general, the map is quite good and accurate. I have it installed on a Helix 5 GPS/Sonar and a Helix 7 GPS/DI for which the map was designed. Combined with the GPS it is very accurate and would allow navigation through critical areas in the dark. My first criticism is that depth accuracy is not accurate in areas on Rainy Lake North Arm I know to be different. There is one passage I take that the map says is under 4'-5' in depth when it is really 15'-20' deep - better that way than the reverse. Second, and this may be a Humminbird Helix display problem, navigation buoys are shown with such tiny icons/symbols that they are very hard to see. Also, the lines for secondary channels are very fine and hard to see at times. Third, known rocks, though present, are not shown with a very bold symbol, once again, it may be a Humminbird display issue, but it is a real navigational hazard interpretation problem. Where there are schoals around a rock, that is easily discernable. Fourth, features such as the Noden Causeway and the CN lift bridge entering the North Arm are not shown with any more than a very fine line. For these prominent features and navigation related items, I would expect that it they should be more prominently and difinitively dispalyed. In general, it is a good map, especially for the price. It is quite an improvement on the first LakeMaster Rainy/Lake of the Woods map I used for years on my Garmin that was much more flawed than this current version that represents a quantum leap in detail and accuracy.Read full review
