Was easy to fit and does the job. Didn’t have any issues with length of bolts as other reviewers mentioned - it was simple and is a good replacement for the original. Soft close function is great. Expensive for what it is - but supply seems limited and prices therefore high. Certainly good quality and hopefully will last well. Recommended if you have an Ideal Standard “Space” toilet.

Ideal standard should be ashamed to make this. The old seat broke at the welds on the hinge. Seems a common problem looking at other reviews. I ordered the first replacement, which arrived with badly made hinges which didn't fit. That was returned. The next arrived with the mounting holes for the seat to the hinges off center. I fitted the seat anyway, to much hassle to return for a third. The quality has gone down too between the original one from the 2000s to now. Screws cheaper and don't bed well. When I replace the toilet I'll buy another brand so I don't have to have this seat.

The luridly written instructions do'nt help much. This is what I did to get a good fit- discard the supplied screws and plastic bushes and / or the metal alternatives. Use 6mm stainless coach screws [40mm length ] 'penny washers' and SS nuts. If the old rubber backed washers are OK, then use them against the ceramic. If the diameter of the screw heads is too wide , file or trim to fit the recesses in the fitting plates. The projecting studs need to be back as far as they will go, with 140 mm centres. Hand tighten, fit the seat to check alignment, then sufficiently tighten. Total cost - a few pence and really easy to do. If I had tried to use the supplied parts for my "Space" WC I"d still be struggling!

Seat works perfectly and is the correct size, but fittings are a bit dodgy. Two types of fittings supplied, one didn't fit properly and the other broke before I could use it. However not difficult to contrive your own fittings.

I needed to replace the original Ideal Standard product because the screws fixing the seat to the fixing bracket has rusted out. A replacement to match the original was £80. The original was not soft closing, This replacement (not an Ideal Standard product was half the price and soft closes, It would be perfect if it want back a bit further but it is still a good product and looks the part. Overall it is better and better value than the original.
