I bought this because of the balanced twin flaps that will always open. I was not sure if others that have a single flap with offset pivot would reliably open and close fully. Yes the spring is lightweight - but it is there to encourage the flaps to close, the backdraught will force them shut. One of the flaps stuck a bit due to excess moulding on the pins. Easily solved with a knife as the flaps are easy to remove and replace as they flex. I did tweak the spring slightly at the same time to help them shut fully. With a MF100S fan, there is plenty of airflow to open the flaps.

Fitted with only one spring when it should have two so the two half shutters can easily lay open in the rest position. The 100mm barrel is too short so attaching the two vent hose ends is exceedingly difficult to secure with tie wraps and keep the installation leak free. Not fit for purpose.

I was put off a little by some reviews about the single spring .. but that seems to be sufficient when the fan goes out the flaps drop fine.the temperature of the small room immediately went up to be less draughty and I am delighted. I already had a manrose fan so it integrated well. Great 👌

It fits well, though it's a bit lightweight. It does have to deal with very low air pressure, so I guess that can't be avoided. Time will ell how well it lasts.

This is a good quality item, I was able to fit it in about 10 minutes. Should improve our heating in the kitchen which could get draughty when it was windy outside.
