It is comfortable, you can keep it on your head for hours and it won't hurt you. I mean you won't fell any discomfort with it. I have tried other headphones and round about 2 hours of use with of the ones I have I got the top of my head really sensitive, or with another pair I had my ears hurting due to the pressure made. But for my satisfaction, with these KRK I have not felling any discomfort so far. The quality of the sound is simply great, I can hear the details I want to hear when working on a mixing. Greatly recommended.

Although not the top of the range of studio headphones. KRK make monitors headphones that will stand up well with more expensive brands. I have used both the lower range KNS-6400 set with success for a long time. all frequencies were clear with very litttle distortion. even at high volume. but the 8400 is definitely a step up. Bass frequency is much more to the fore and clearer. Response is brilliant and overall I'm very pleased with them. They are very easy to wear and you get the added bonus of a two part lead. One part of which contains a volume slider. You can connect either lead singly, or as a pair to make it longer. I can wander around the room a bit. It's a neat set and I wouldn't bother getting any others now. I have 3 sets connected to a Samson Headphone amp. They clearly out perform the M1000's headphones I have.Read full review

I have 3 quality headphones; Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro, Sennheiser HD595 and now this one... The DT770 is smooth and tame unless pushed. The HD595 packs a punch and very bright and powerful. These KRKs is balanced right between the two - and very clear. It's as if the drivers are more taut, giving more room for details that you don't hear as finely as the others. Yes, there's punch but it's more controlled throughout the spectrum, revealing more of the character in the instruments and vocals which is very useful if you are an audio engineer. I have a home studio and mix with the DT770. But I'll soon be mixing with the KRKs, once I get to know it better - A/B comparing with the DT770 if not on its own altogether.

Great design which are lightweight and very comfortable. There appears to be very little colouration of the original sound and give you a detailed "picture" of the soundstage. Since using these headphones, I find my ears are much less fatigued than when using conventional headphones. These headphones are definitely reference headphones and are a great addition to my small studio where I can work away into the early hours without disturbing others in the household or the neighbours. It's. just like having a pair of KRK speakers strapped to your head with their trademark clarity and depth. You will not be disappointed if you are looking for a pair of decent reference headphones for your studio or home recording projects.
