I hadn't been aware of this film until I went to see the musical and someone told me that they had seen it, but they had found it a bit slow. I wanted to know more about the back story so decided to buy the film to watch. I enjoyed it and didn't find it slow at all, but very entertaining. It is pretty much the same as the musical, but without Cyndi Lauper's songs, but the soundtrack is good as are Lola's performances.

I had seen the West End Show of Kinky Boots, and naively thought the DVD - although made many, many years before, had music in it! Not the case at all. It was the same story, but somehow it just didn't make me feel the same as the show. It was very well scripted and acted, and both poignant, and joyful. Apparently a big hit at the time. I'm glad I bought it, but it's unlikely I will watch it a second time. Moral is, watch the film first!

This is a great film based on a true story. So good it has been reproduced for the West End and Broadway stages. Quality of the Disc is good too especially for the price.

Love this film, seen it on tv several times, and went to see it at the theatre so came home and bought the dvd to keep. Its heart warming, sad but happy, tells the story of a guy who has to take over his dads failing shoe factory in Northampton. The characters are great, special Simon from Clacton (Lola). brilliant!!!! And if you love shoes... then its definitely worth watching
