I'm always a little sceptical about Lonely Planet guides because it's often difficult to check the publication date and in a place like Georgia I imagine recommendations for hotels and restaurants can quickly go out of date. However this book seems well researched and compares well with the Bradt guide, the only other guide of the area. Different brands have different strengths (and weaknesses) and by cross referencing to Tripadvisor (for what that's worth) the listings in this Lonely Planet guide seem more current than in the Bradt. So I can recommend this guide, although I have yet to actually visit the country. At least I can say I am confident enough to use this to plan my visit.
