Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best-selling in Monitor Mounts & Stands
A dual screen monitor arm that is desk clamped is one of those things that everyone with 2 monitors think that they need, until they see the price tag and jaws were dropped. The idea makes a lot of sense - to put two desktop stands on a desk means you have limited room left for a keyboard let alone any in/out tray or a USB-C dock or even just somewhere for highlighters - a desk clamped arm hovering over your desk allow you to "take back control" over the premium London office space you paid with hard earned cash. The problem is, how much of that are you actually reclaiming with this? As it turns out, quite some of it but with a significant catch. The stand is very well built and well designed. There is a route to run cables with a magnetic cover, where allen keys for adjustments are also kept. There is a mechanism to tighten the arm depending on the load, conveniently displayed in a kg marked gauge. The whole construction feels smooth and will probably withstand years of office abuse. VESA mounts are provided as standard, if you decided not to go with Dell monitors, the Ultrasharp line of which are actually very good value for money. As long as you don't pay this arm at the Dell retail price, you are getting quite some material for your bucks. Now back to the desk space. Your average desk is going to be 700/800mm deep at most. You will want to push this arm as backward as possible so that you can get some viewing distance, which means you will rotate this angled arm sideways to 90 degrees, on top of which the monitor rail will turn 90 degree again to face you. However all that mechanism take up some space, and by the end of all that you'll have your monitors closer to your face than your stock desktop stands. I am only using this with 24 inch U2417Hs - and I already feels the monitors in my face. I cannot imagine how deep a desk you need to use this arm in its normal position as shown in the marketing pictures! It is certainly true that the monitors while close, is hovering, meaning things can be put underneath. You now have a lot more desktop space - provided that you don't use that for writing - your head will bang against your monitors. In other words, I spent quite some money to have an in-out tray desk space... So if you are using a studio desk which are extremely generous in depth then you are in luck - go ahead and buy this and you'll have a very neat desktop and a solidly built monitor stand. However if you work in a cramped london office, you might want to have some measurements before clicking Buy it Now.Read full review
