I looked at the Fahgeddaboutit which is the highest standard, and I looked at the Oxford line for an economy priced lock. My opinion is that the Thatcham is very close to the Fahgeddaboutit and is priced so that it won't break the bank. I think there is like 1 mm difference in the thickness of the chain -- not enough for me to worry. If you can cut this chain, chances are you can cut the gold standard as well. I am very impressed and feel my bike is safe when parked and locked with this chain.

I use it with a ground anchor in my driveway on front wheel. Too heavy to carry around in my opinion. Long enough for my purpose. Padlock a bit awkward with removable shackle but lock mechanism smooth. Chain crosses over with a long link. Highly visible which is good and nylon chain cover seems reasonably robust. All in all a good lock. (But) nobody has tried to defeat it yet. .

Good strong padlock and tough heavy chain. I like the bright green fabric cover on the chain which protects the paint work and chrome from scratches when using the chain. great value for money too.

1.2 m lock is strong but manageable, but heavy for everyday use, good for overnight garage security of if you are parking in a dodgy area.

Even better than I thought it would be. Very heavy duty. I'll only be using it at home as I think it's too heavy to carry about, unless your going somewhere dodgy.
