I absolutely loved this series when it was broadcast on terrestrial television, although I didn't think I was going to. If you are expecting accurate history, this is not for you. If you enjoy a bit of fantasy entertainment, this will suit you as you see the adventures of the young Merlin, who can only learn magic secretly at the court of Uther Pendragon at Camelot as the king has outlawed all sorcery on pain of death. The settings are amazing and some of the scenes might be just a little scary for very young children. There are five series in all and I would strong recommend anyone who hasn't seen any of the series before to start at the beginning, which maybe sounds rather obvious (sorry if that seems patronising) but that way you will pick up all the nuances. Watch out for the appearance of the dragon and the voice of John Hurt.Read full review

This is a good series and entertaining with good characters. One of Colin Morgan's early roles and he made the character of Merlin his own

We have really enjoyed Merlin (second time round for me); it's a light hearted watch that tells a legendary story. It definitely gets better throughout the series, as the actors come into their characters. Would recommend!
