Pocketable, powerful, lightweight unit for still and movies.
This is a great little flashgun, ideal for the M series of mirrorless cameras but will also travel with my larger full frame Canon camera. It is very compact and portable. It also works well as a slave unit when using another Metz flash on the camera as the sender but neither of my cameras picks up the remote flash units for some reason. Having said that, when on a camera the camera flash controls, ETTL/Manual; 1st or 2nd curtain synch, exposure compensation etc work well with the camera. There's a flip up diffuser for wide angle lenses and bounce flash is possible. The output is high enough to use bounce flash in a domestic environment especially if you shoot in RAW and tweak the shadows. The pop on attachment for telephoto lenses is more awkward to use. A bonus is the continuous light from a LED that can be set at two levels. This is useful for movies, making this unit a great all rounder. Metz are a well established firm for flashguns and make powerful professional units. Their high standards filter down into amateur units like this. They produce full featured dedicated units that are much better value than Canon's own brand.
