These are just the best - sturdy, firm, safe to handle and hold a surprising amount. I work with two in tandem - one with perhaps salmon, and the other with veg. Par cook the veg, then the salmon, which can be removed whilst very pink but will carry on cooking outside the microwave. And finish off the veg. I bought a slightly larger, more expensive steamer that isn't a patch on this - consigned to the bin!

Very easy to use and clean. Great little steamer. Have now bought one for a friend.

A great little microwave steamer. I have always used steaming bags but this is much better for the environment than plastic bags. I bought 2 - one for myself and the other for a grandson who lives alone. It's big enough to get plenty of vegetables in. I live alone and did small potatoes, carrot, broccoli, cauliflower and there was still room enough for another portion of each so great for a couple. I intend to steam salmon and veg tomorrow, No pans to clean and all done very quickly. Definitely a good bu and very reasonably priced. I have seen the same steamer more expensive on other sites.

Its my mum that wanted it, she had one before this for a long time until she damaged it. So she asked me to get her a new one. She loves them as she is elderly, and lives on her own she finds it very useful because a lot of the time she is just cooking for her self. She says she wouldn't want to be without one.

I’ve used this specific steamer design for ten years now and bought a few extras recently for members of my family. This is the easiest way by far to steam vegetables in a microwave. I wash the tree parts of the steamer separately on the top shelf of my dishwasher and my ten year old model still looks brand new. To steam vegetables, I cut about two cupfuls, e.g. broccoli, into smaller pieces, rinse it, and steam it for two to three minutes on high. I don’t add any water as I always rinse vegetables before I steam it, so there is a little residue water from the rinsing. One learns quickly how long to steam your typical quantity of specific vegetables to get it just right. After steaming, I leave the unit with the lid closed for about 30 seconds, transfer the steamed vegetables to my serving bowl, add a little butter, and enjoy. My favourite vegetables for which I always use this steamer, are broccoli, carrots, frozen peas, potatoes and courgettes. I can’t recommend this highly enough.Read full review
