Delightful French comedy about a selfish, friendless antiques dealer who foolishly accepts a bet that he will produce his "Best Friend" within a month. As time rapidly runs out, the dealer discovers a charming, sociable taxi driver who might be prepared to play the part. It all leads to the French edition of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. This charming character study, starring the always-watchable Daniel Auteuil and Dany Boon, was directed by the great Patrice Leconte.
I loved this film. It's quirky with an usual story line. The main character, a sucessful antique dealer discovers he has no friends and worse, he has no idea how to relate to others. He teams up with a tolerant taxi driver who shows him how through a series of events which almost results in them falling out. It's a real feel-good film with some twists and turns.( But no spoiler) May sound banal but it isn't.
