I purchased this book because it was chosen to be read by the book group I belong to. All members of the group enjoyed reading it, but there was some slight criticism: why was the story told of Cora's mother's hair catching fire when there was no real follow-up on this, it seemed rather irrelevant? Apart from that, it was very enjoyable, easy reading of a bygone era of elegance and class divide. The book held one's interest from beginning to end with a twist to the tale, and was very witty and amusing in parts. It is a book I would recommend and be happy to read again at a future date.
It's a very interesting read, I'm into history stories and this was really good, also the facts were correct. I loved the woven in story
