Garrard 401 running smooth
I purchased this idler wheel with bronze bushes as mine were Over 50 years old as you will know. The reviews I found on audiosilente were good so I went with it and I do not regret it. I only needed to replace the top bronze bush using punch tool supplied then cleaned the bottom existing bush and oiled it. Then reassemble with new idler wheel and a drop of oil on the top bush. Make sure the rubber idler wheel has not got any oil on it wipe it with a bit of isopropyl alcohol and then your all good to go. It now plays very stable and no rumble from old worn bush and idler wheel EXCELLENT results and a pleasure to do. I would recommend anyone doing this if you have a Garrard 401 or the 301 as it is the same for both. The idler wheel is precision engineered to fine tolerances with the supplied ... Perfect upgrade to the 401.
The original fifty year old idler wheel on my turntable was looking very tired, the rubber was cracking around the circumference. I had heard very good reports about the quality and effectiveness of this product and so I bit the bullet and bought one. I have to add my endorsement to all the others. The improvement in the sound quality of my turntable was immediate and noticeable, especially in the bass. I haven't yet used the supplied bronze bushes as the idler fits the existing mount perfectly well. Quality and precise built
Very well and precise built. Simone is a true craftsman and a kind gentleman, and I'm extremely satisfied of several products I've bought from him. The idler wheel for Garrard (I've also got one for Lenco from him) is a "drop-in"replacement, with the added bonus of bronze bushings and removal tool for them in case of need. My original idler was not damaged to need replacement, but I've got this idler and replaced it nevertheless - better contact with the drive spindle, lower noise, precision wheel bearings.Very well and precise built. Simone is a true craftsman and a kind gentleman, and I'm extremely satisfied of several products I've bought from him. Early TD124 stepped pulley replacement
Audiosilente has made a terrific part for early/low serial number TD124s. The original stepped pulley can be temperamental and having a replacement part that is equal or better to the original will keep my TD124 running for another 6+ decades.
