Good charger
Has multiple charging modes so you can prolong the life of the batteries, each cell can be charged separately which is great as each cell is individually discharged, charged and kept charged if necessary. Has useful display and takes AA as well as AAA. You really don't need anything else. The build quality is "medium-high", the PSU being the most worrying part but the cable is short and thick indicating that someone actually designed it to "work" and not to "sell". I had a load of aa rechargeable batteries that would only take a small charge and went flat quickly. This charger has a 'revive' function that bought them back to life - sometimes taking 24 hours to do it. Great for the van

Compact charger with great features
I have only used this a few times so cannot comment on long term use. Seems to charge batteries AA and AAA batteries satisfactorily. Good lightweight charger. Has many features which I haven't had the need to use so far. I just plug in and go and it does a great job. This is a very good quality charger, that enables you to keep batteries in top condition. Much cheaper in the long run than using throw-away batteries. Very good quality, with clear display; only one critism: the instructions are tiny, so just go on-line and find some larger ones. Simply the best charger you can buy
My old YC4000 charger used to run alongside an Energizer smart charger which looked nice but wasn't so smart. It charged at a fast rate and the rate was not selectable. It was only due to the fact that I only used that one for Energizer batteries that alerted me to the fact that they were reducing capacity and dying while the Duracell's I used to charge in the Youshiko kept going strong. Since then I only used the Youshiko, and as the new versions have updated software I gave my old one to my nephew and bought two of these. This is an absolutely brilliant charger. It does everything you're ever gonna need it to do; discharge, recharge, refresh, test - it does it all, it does effortlessly, and it does it all perfectly. Then add to that, that you can charge individual batteries of different sizes, of different mAh as well as individually choose the discharge and recharge rates of each, plus it's got a USB charging output on the back and you've got a no-brainer. If you want a brilliant charger, buy it, trust it, use it. It will last and it will make your batteries do so also. Better than most AA/AAA chargers
Seems to be better than most I have used. Disappointing not to have the option to buy this unit with the 240/12v PSU suitable for the country for which it is being sold to & used. A definite weakness in charging cells that are very flat. The Technoline BL700N seems to be superior in that regard. Otherwise, so far, this is a good unit.
