The Real Deal
When shopping online for an OS installation disk, be sure and get one like this, made by the original manufacturer (Microsoft in this case), in its original packaging. I once failed to do this with a Windows XP disk, and got one that didn't have all the necessary files on it. This one does, and it also comes with Service Pack 3 on another disk, which is a must-have for Windows XP. After you install the OS, install the Service Pack before you do anything else.
The only caveat with this disk is that it isn't made for any specific motherboard or equipment. It comes with all the generic drivers, which work OK, but if there are drivers specific to your device, and there will be, you will have to install them separately for all the hardware to work and work its best.
