A little tight when I first got it, but I think it's loosened up a bit to where it's easier to use now (after a couple weeks).

This guitar Capo looks real sharp, but you get what you pay for. It was very inexpensive, but It appears to be rather weak, and does not work with my very nice Ovation acoustic 6 string guitar (using "light" strings). It seems to be too weak to clamp down and terminate the strings creating a buzzing noise with every note. It doesn't work on my ole Yamaha 6 string either. If the clamp/spring were a bit stronger I think it would work as expected. It might work on an electric guitar, but I don't play an electric guitar so this purchase ended up being a waste irregardless.

This capo is meant for a guitar with FLAT fretboard/neck as is the case with most classic nylon string guitars. It will not work properly if is placed on a guitar with a CURVED fretboard/neck as is the case with many, if not most, steel string acoustic guitars. But this important particular is NOT at all mentioned in the advertising and it definitely should be. In fact, the advertising actually says that this capo is "perfect for necks and fingerboards of electric or acoustic guitars". Now this is not at all true if said neck or fingerboard is curved. Now, I have a guitar with a curved neck so this capo is not appropriate for my guitar. When I use this capo on my guitar, there is an unacceptable amount of string buzzing because the guitar and capo are mismatched. The capo may indeed work well for guitars having a flat fretboard. But this capo does NOT work well with my curved neck steel string guitar. Since I do not own a flat neck guitar, I cannot attest how the capo works with an appropriately flat necked guitar. My review is, therefore. based entirely based on the capo's performance when used on my guitar. This review might be more forgiving if I had used this capo on a flat necked classic nylon string guitar; but I can't say this for sure.Read full review

Not a great capo, but it's alright considering the price. It's quite narrow, so I have to mess with it to keep some strings from choking out on my acoustic guitar. If you have a wide fretboard, this will be too narrow to be useful. Also, the spring is weak, so it doesn't quite have enough clamping power to make the notes sound out cleanly. Overall, it's hard to be disappointed because of the price. But if you have a wide board or use very heavy strings, you might want to invest in a more expensive capo.

It's much to hard for me to keep it open to fit over the guitar.
