As an A/V installer, I love this remote. However, if you are not a URC installer, or do not have one to help out, I wouldn't recommend this remote--it requires a program that only URC Certified installers should have, and takes some training/knowledge to get the most out if (macros, code sets, general functions, etc.) However, this remote is powerful, customizable, can be used with an RF base station that can make controlling devices more reliable, and the program can be backed up and reloaded on to another remote if something happens My only issue is that a fair number of these remotes have screens that can get dark with less than a year's use and only those bought directly from certified dealers are potentially eligible for replacement, so buyer beware.

Great replacement for worn out unit.

This is a good universal remote and the used price is fantastic. I bought it to replace the one I dropped and broke the display. One cannot program it by yourself. You need to find an authorized dealer. I had a dealer copy the program from one to the other for $50.00.

I had a professional audio visual guy program and it is easy to use and I like that it has a backlight.

The MX 780 is a good product however, you need to have a (certified) technician to program it.
