I purchased this lens to use on a Z5. I wanted a wider lens than the 24mm kit lens, but didn’t have a lot of money to spend and I think this is the cheapest way of getting 18mm. The main thing to be aware of is that AF-D lens won’t auto focus on Z cameras because of the way they work, but focus peaking still works and the focus square will still turn green when where you have it positioned is in focus. The focus ring is very precise, you only have to turn it a small amount to achieve focus. It has a proper focus ring on it with distance marks and it stops turning when it gets to the minimum or maximum focus marks. There are no seals on the lens so keep it away from dust and rain and be aware that the weather sealing on your camera will be compromised with this lens fitted. It’s not the best made lens, but for the price, if you look after it, it should serve you well, and if you’re not a pixel peeper l think you will be happy with the pictures you can get from this lens.Read full review

Excellent sharpness but visible barrel distortion at wider angles. Light weight and compact for focal length range.

I currently use this lens on my Nikon D800, a camera which I assure you will show up any flaws. being a full frame camera it's nice to have the full 18-35mm as is without any crop factor, at the 18mm end it is bordering on fish eye depending how close your subject is which for me is generally portraits. I like the distortion it gives almost akin to fairground hall of mirrors. Over all a great lens for the price with high quality glass which will not disappoint.
I purchased this to replace 12-24 which was lovely but too bulky and heavy for the sort of remote set ups I habitually use [Sports and horse racing below] this lens is a feather weight, compact, with negligible fall off in sharpness/performance from it's gargantuan £1000 big brother.. If you're outdoors on an FX body this is a super little lens. You'll pay a huge premium for the extra low light performance, minor reduction in distortion and miniscule extra sharpness if you plump for the monster.. you'll know all about it if you're carrying it around the countryside too.
