Nikon has so many types and styles of point and shoot cameras, but this model, the Nikon Coolpix S200 is my favorite for the reason that it has features the newer ones don't. Features like Time Lapse and Stop Action. While the 7.1 Megapixels isn't considered high nowadays, it holds its own and can take beautiful dusk and dawn pictures in the Scene selections. But back to my favorite feature, Time Lapse photography. In this mode, you have the option of taking 1 picture every 30 seconds to 1 picture every hour. If you like to take sunrise, sunset, or a whole say from sunup to sunset and everything in between, you can buy the A/C power adapter and use that in place of the standard battery. Using the battery, you can take anywhere from 2 1/2 - 3 hours of Time Lapse. But if you use the Item picture EH-62D EH62D A/C Power Adapter, you can extend your Time Lapse picture taking and use the entire 1800 shots which is the maximum the camera will allow. If taking 1 picture every 30 seconds, that's 15 hours of Time Lapse. If taking 1 picture every 60 minutes, that's 75 days! You can watch grass grow, or watch a seed grow into a plant and bear fruit. You can watch a small caterpillar grow to an adult, make a cocoon/chrysalis and emerge a beautiful moth or butterfly. But the best thing is that unlike other cameras that take time lapse pictures, the camera automatically formats it so when you play it back, it's already made into an .AVI clip. You can also make your own stop action movies. The kids would love to make and watch their very own movie creations. The new model Coolpix cameras don't have the Time Lapse or Stop Action features. They've been traded for the new fad, High Frame Speed video. There is also the normal video recording mode, which offers 4 different resolution settings. Like all cameras, it should not be dropped. But the Coolpix series lenses are easily damaged so that they will either not extend, or retract after a square hit on the assembly. All of the lenses are made of plastic, so make sure you wipe them gently with a proper soft lens cloth as they can scratch easily if a rough cloth is used. There is also an audio record feature, so you can use it for lectures, band practice, or anything that an audio recorder is used for. The maximum record time is 5 hours, but you will need the A/C power adapter to record that long. Using the regular stock battery you can expect 2 1/2 to 3 hours of record time. You can pause it as many times as you need to during record or playback, and during recording you can also press a side button to index an important part you want to skip to later. You can make as many indexs as you want for each recording. It is a great little camera with some good features for a very decent price.Read full review
I am a little challenged with these things, but so far it has been easy to use and I will get better with experience as it came with everything I could possibly need.
