Straight out of the box removed a couple of links it fitted perfect. A decent quality stainless bracelet even with the end pieces that are not solid. Manually wound 60 turns and two days later it has gained only 5 seconds. Lucky I suppose but the movement appears much smoother that a couple of Seikos I have, both were more expensive. This watch is more accurate than my 1997 Tag Heuer 6000 with a certified swiss movement inside. This Orient Ray 2 will be my day to day watch and for £159 has to be the best buy in the world at the moment for an inhouse automatic built Japanes watch. It has actually made me think seriously about ever buying a swiss movement again. They are far to expensive compared to the Japanese and I do not believe the brand inflated prices in my opinion are warranted.

Stiff bezel is part of it's character but it can be adjusted. Crown is large enough and well protected. Initially a little fast but now +2 sec a day after regulating. Despite the weight it is a lot more comfortable than I expected. Lume is crazy bright - easy to read after 8 hours. Alignment of the dial and the bezel are perfect. I really cannot fault the attention to detail. It is all I could hope for in an automatic dive watch at a sensible price. This watch has it's own style and I love it.
