... but read why I would not generally recommend this equipment, as follows. I purchased this 'pair' of Polycom 'satellite microphones' because they were offered at an attractive price by the seller from whom I purchased the main Polycom audio conferencing unit. They help to extend the coverage of voice recording capabilities of the main audio conferencing unit. I also purchased a handheld 'remote controller' for this equipment but from a different seller. I purchased this equipment because I am still involved with face-to-face meetings in my retirement. I used similar audio conferencing equipment, also made by Polycom, professionally in my long 40yr career. I trust the Polycom brand and I am familiar with this type of equipment which when new would have cost close to £1,000 but which can now be purchased for a fraction of this price. Would I recommend this equipment to a friend? Probably not because technology has moved on and this equipment is now largely obsolete. Also, there are more modern versions available at similarly low prices. Likes and dislikes do not come into this review. This type of equipment has served the professional community well for a great many years. It was/is a fine performer, reliable and durable but it has now been superseded by better, more sensitive equipment. Furthermore, conferencing itself has changed. We now have the Internet, broadband and Skype (say) and face-to-face meetings is large auditoriums/offices is much less common. The Polycom audio conferencing system uses the PSTN telephone system and there is no need for computers. This equipment can be plugged into any convenient telephone access point. Obtaining spares and finding replacement Polycom items is still possible. Prices continue to fall and these units are still relatively plentiful but there will come a time when their maintenance is no longer cost effective. For the time being, however, the Polycom audio conferencing units are a much cheaper alternative than using modern computerised audio+visual conferencing equipment. This older technology will remain as long as we have the PSTN system in its present form.Read full review
if you can get one of these at well under their retail, they are very useful: excellent quality for conference calling, good wireless connectivity, connects to most standard DECT base stations, simple to use and very good for a small home office or business. At retail prices they are expensive, but if you can get one for £50-£90 then it's worthwhile, if you need a business conference phone.

I am self employed and work from home. Having suffered with my home phone speaker function for a few months I decided enough was enough. I had seen plenty of the wired versions of the Polycom 'spider phones' in the office so I was familiar with their functioning. Before buying, I did consider other models and brands but the Polycom stood out in terms of reviews so I made the purchase. Since buying, my teleconferencing has improved considerably. During international calls, the speaker is clear and even when an occasional bad connection with a conference member occurs, the volume control can be turned up enough to correct and contunue without having to restart the call. I have also checked with colleagues to ensure they hear my voice clearly on the other end. The wireless pod is painless for moving from room to room without messy cables and invaluable if I need to answer the door or multitask whilst on a long call without missing a question. I have the phone connected directly to the phone socket but it can also be connected to a PC for Internet calls. Battery life on a single charge with about 6 hours use and 18 hrs standby is comfortable although I typically leave it plugged in unless on the move. My only minor issue is that occasionally (every week or so) the pod disconnects and reconnects to the wireless box. It does this automatically and I cannot work out the cause but it can be annoying if it happens in the middle of the night as it beeps. However, on the whole I am very impressed with a well designed product that performs exceptionally well and makes long conference calls a lot easier.Read full review
