I was able to fit it by removing the strap, taking out the pin, then bending it to go through the loop, then refitting the strap to the watch. Since the strap overall was in good condition this was a better option than buying a new strap.

I got a 20mm loop as that’s the width of the strap, however, it is a bit snug to get the end of the strap under. It does go under but I think a 21 or 22mm would have been better.
