Love having a blue ray player again. Excellent pic quality. Still trying to find the menu button on the remote tho.

Really enjoy using the product and is a great addition to my A/V bedroom set up.

This unit is the 2012 model, and is the first to allow NTFS formatted external HDD, overcoming 2GB filesize limit. Of course it allows the modern codecs for commonly seen files. Of note all 2012 Panasonic BD players (regular series)include that feature, the BD87 is the wi-fi enabled non-3D model. THERE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THE DESCRIPTION AT THE TIME OF THIS REVIEW; IT LABELS THIS (BD87 or BD871) AS 3D BLURAY, IT IS NOT A 3D PLAYER. The BD220, the next model up, is 3D. Still, I recommend a separate Roku box for getting all online content.

Works great! Loads fast! Works with your Dish remote. I was tired of loading my pc to watch my blurays, esp if someone was on the pc. Even then the pc was a pain to control from the couch. I had to locate my logitech denovo mini. And that was a pain since my sony bluray is slow to load. I bought this without a remote, which you will need, or you won't be able to enter the menu's. I discovered the Dish remote easily allows you to add the model of the player and you're up and running.
