I used this to strip powder coat from an aluminium bike frame, a tough job - it works, but it was hard work! I applied one layer and wrapped the frame in clingfilm and left overnight, scraped off what I could and had a second go leaving overnight, this time with a much thicker layer. Most of the paint then was easy to scrape off - I think it works by breaking the bond between the metal and the paint, rather than relying on super harsh chemicals to ‘melt’ the paint. So, you don’t need highly protective gloves etc, but it does need a bit of work, some ludicrously stubborn v small patches needed a third go.

Hi.I bought this product after watching a clip on you tube and yes it works great on brick faces, although it had no or very little effect on the mortar cracks. If extra plastic blankets as they call them are needed theres no need to buy theirs at extortionate prices any unused plastic bags will suffice,i used one that some pillows came in worked fine. the reason I gave 3 stars is because of the price and secondly because I think extra plastic sheets is a rip off.

I have tried all kinds of stripper and this one beats them all hands down. Just stripped an old Black and Decker workmate (it was powder coated). It took off 2mm thick powder coat easily! Just apply a thick coat and cover with cling film for 24 hours and the paint/powder coat peels off like jelly. I also use it on old machinery e.g. lathes that have enamel paint on them. Does the job brilliantly. Also it isn't corrosive like other well known makes.

This Peelaway treatment is great. I have tried a few paint strippers and this is the best so far. In the middle of stripping back a staircase that has many layers of paint. This does the job brilliantly. Will be using this from now on. It is quite expensive but you pay for what you get. I would highly recommend it.

Used this product exactly as described on an original victorian ceiling rose. Spent 3 hours applying the product and the plastic wrap ensuring all nooks and crannies were filled and all air bubbles popped. I had to leave it on for just over 48 hours before I noticed a reaction with the paint. As I began to remove the plastic I realised the old paint was definitely not about to Peel away as simply as suggested. I spent 6 HOURS with a variety of impliments cleaning the softened paint from the ceiling rose. It worked no better than a much much cheaper product would have done. Sorry Peelaway not fit for this purpose.
