I purchased a different brand and returned it, then spent an extra $50 to upgrade to this one. It was a major upgrade: better sound, better features, more options, etc.

I purchased this to fit into a small area and have blue tooth capabilities. I wanted a received that will actually receive Am and Fm stations. Pioneer is a brand I learned about in the 60es. They had quality products and apparently still do. I actually put the original speakers on my front porch and have a better quality speakers for inside. I drive them both through an A,B,C switch. The Amp drives both without problem. Yes the speakers that come with this are not great, but what can you expect for the price. I think it is great and meets my needs.

I found an old X-CM21 in a thrift store, and totally loved it. Easy to use, great sound and can't beat the Thrift Store price. I needed the machine, so after searching thrift stores and the list of Mr Craig for awhile, I gave in and bought this new one. Great decision! It improves on the older model in very significant ways (navigation, folder names, EQ). Consider me very satisfied.

We got this for our bedroom and have the speakers separated to either end of a long dresser. The sound is quite good for such a little system: much better than small or micro bluetooth speakers, as expected, but it's not so large that it's overly obtrusive. Of note, when turned off, there are NO LIGHTS left on: this makes us very happy. For the size and price, we're quite pleased.

Why waste your money on any other expensive brand, when you can get excellent results in sound quality for a fifth of the price required by that more expensive brand.
