If you want accurate feedback on physical activity without the hassle of having to charge or connect to a computer or smartphone these older Polar HRM's are the best. I bought my first one 10 years ago and replaced it with a month ago. My goals are to track my HR (max, avg, current), Calories, time in HR zone of my current workout. If interested in a historical record it does only archive 12 workouts on the watch it does have the capability to download to a computer but I don't know and don't care how that works. There are more features such as Own Zone, testing your current conditioning level. It does require a chest strap which is more accurate than the wrist style HRM.

I bought the F11 obviously to monitor my heart rate. I got it used since I wasnt sure if I needed one or not since I never used one before. I dont regret the purchase and in hindsight I wouldnt mind shelling out the extra money for a new one. I like being able to understand the rate my heart pumps when I exercise and it helps me find my target heart rate which I think is supposed to be good for fat loss. I also like knowing what my heart rate is when I am working hard on a run. I haven't used all the features this thing has but so far its cool. Im not sure how it compares to the cheaper wrist only models from china but I suspect its much more accurate and reliable. I would recommend the F11 to anyone who is serious about running and is interested in their heart rate data. This thing tracks a bunch of stuff for you.Read full review
This is my second one. I lost the sender that snaps on to the strap. Replacements from Polar are quite pricey. Found this whole unit for under $25 - about one sixth the retail value of a whole new one. So now I've got my sender and my wife benefits because she now has a whole new unit. She never used mine because it has my settings in it. Now her powder blue one is all customized with her settings. The watchband on this one is small - just right for her. If you go to the gym, workout, press a couple of buttons, you find out how long your workout lasted, how many calories you burned, your average heartbeat for the session, and your highest heartbeat for the session. The watch is capable of doing a whole lot more but I am content knowing that information. So's the wife. On the downside not much. Sort of a pain to put your strap on but I don't use it for every workout. Cleaning the sweat off from it after each workout is also sort of a pain. Changing the battery is a little tricky but doable. All in all I got a LOT of BANG for the buck! THANKS!Read full review

HRM is easy to set up. Monitor reads quickly, accurately, and provides max HR, avg HR, and calories readout after workout. Only "minor" complaint is that average HR is not given as a display option during workout.
