Did not work on a known leak!
Just had the first occasion to use this item. I knew I had a propane leak, because I could smell it. I ran this along the area I knew the leak was coming from and it NEVER gave me a warning. I finally went the old fashioned route and used dish soap. That identified the connection where the leak was located. I then placed this item at that exact connection where I could see the bubbles in the soap. Still NO warning! I then turned off the propane and proceeded to disconnect the location of the leak. As I did, a cloud of propane appeared (as I knew it would). I placed this device directly into the center of that cloud, and still NO warning.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Mixed quality
Had this product before and it worked great - very sensitive and sensed a small leak near the valve on the hot water tank. No gas smell was visible. Purchased it again for our new home - couldnt detect gas at the stove top with the pilot on and not lit. Worked as Expected
I had a small natural gas leak and this detector led me directly to the leak. It did take about 10 - 15 seconds to trigger the sensor but that may have been the nature of the small pinhole leak I had. Overall, it worked as expected for a fair price.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
