Accurate State of Charge Measurement and Easy To Use
Easy and accurate method to tell state of charge of battery cells. Superior method than relying on smart chargers to indicate charge by green coloured LED that is not accurate. This hydrometer is a direct reading of acid density and is therefore accurate, smart chargers infer full charging indirectly and can be wrong. Hard to use. Slow .
The meter is slow takes a long time to take a measurement, if you check 24 cells expect to stay a long time. Also hard to get accurate measurement, you need to shake a bit because the two wheels get stuck on each other every now and then. Innovative and Convenient
This innovative hydrometer works well and has several advantages over the conventional glass tube devices. It is relatively unbreakable, more compact and, with the large dial, certainly easier to read. It appears to be well made, but I have had it for only a few weeks so its longevity is unknown. The purchase was easy for an international item (I ordered mine from the UK) and it arrived in a timely manner and well packed. Even with the international shipping cost, I think it's a good value. Solid hydrometer. Stereotypical German precision.
Very accurate readings on my lead acid battery bank for my off grid setup. It's more compact than most, automatically compensates for temperature, accurate readings in almost any orientation. Eazy to use!
I have three different hydrometers and the one I now use is the HYDRO VOLT. With shipping at $24.10 it is the most expensive one that I have. You still have to be careful about air bubbles and making sure that you get it full of acid. The bulb is a little harder to use but not bad. Far better than the turkey baster float type
No more latex rubber ball, glass tubes, tapping or squinting. This reliably produces repeatable measurements and is temperature compensated.
