I was searching for a majority plastic-free kettle, what with all the new research into plastic showing how harmful it can be to human health! Having look at details as well as reading the reviews about dozens of glass / stainless steel kettles, this was the only one of 2 contenders (the other one, a glass Von Shef kettle) which didn't seem to have some type of inherent fault, as evidenced by multiple reviewers complaining of the same issue, such as leaks, slow boil rate, etc. This was a no-brainer. At this price level, it is simply a steal! An elegant design, decent boiling speed for the price. Can't go wrong!

GOOD: Fast boiler, good looks, stable shape, comfortable to handle. BAD: noisy, capacity gage hidden under handle impossible to read.

Boils water quickly and fairly quietly with a bit of style! I like the clean cut , slightly unusual shape and the nice flip top lid which with the push of a button makes for an easy fill. Water level gauge is a bit difficult to see hidden under the handle but that's no big deal. Just look inside the kettle as you're filling from the tap. Never heard of the PureMate brand before but build quality looks decent enough so I hope it's long-lived and reliable.

This is a good kettle, boils quickly, comfortable to use and does not drip - hurrah. The one poor feature is the water level gauge which, hidden behid the handle is practically illegible unless one has a good torch to hand.

1st kettle I bought looked very nice. You see the water boil . One went to make cup of tea and the pop up lid opens a half inch instead of normal inch and a half. This kettle was boxed and original kettle restored .Than I saw this kettle. It seemed to tick all necessary boxes. There was a choice of two kettles. The other one had temperature control and was glass as the kettle I eventually bought is stainless steel. It roared as it heaged the water. Much louder than any kettle I had before. Makes a beautiful cup of tea. Couple days later ,I went to kitchen to make a cuppa. Pick up the kettle to take to the tap to fill up. On returning the kettle to its base attempt to close the lid only to be thwarted as the lid closed but popped open a half inch. On inspection , I rocked the lid .I heard a click . It came from the release button .The lid was finally shut. Phew!!!!!!!!!!Read full review
