Success is very dependent upon skill level. To get authentic looking signals will require considerable skill. Very fine mouldings need to be removed from the sprues carefully and are easily damaged. The pivot pins for the signal arms have to be cut from lengths of fine piano wire and some parts are so small you’ll need the skill of a watchmaker to succeed.

The kit consists of a lot of components from which various signal configurations can be made. There are parts for 4 post type signals and 4 ground level signals. These are tightly arranged on the sprigs and are tricky to release, however the moulding is of good quality. The instructions are not detailed enough; A lot of thought is required to sort out assembly. A number of the parts are very small. It is only suitable for an experienced modeller. The final model is probably to scale, and therefore quite fragile.

The kit was good, instructions needed reading a few times to understand the nuances. Make sure you have the correct glue as mine did not stick instantly...which was pretty vital for this kit. I used the kit in associate with a gantry kit to make a two lane wide gantry with two start signals and 4 siding signals. Overall, I'd reommend this kit to any serious modeller.

I only wish I had the time and patience to make them up. If anybody living near Swindon would like to make them 4 me I would be very grateful. Once made they are far superior to the Hornby ones
