The story of Stan 'Tookie' Williams is a great one, but im not sure if this film has done it justice. I have recently read his book and looked into his life, the man really has helped to change the world. While Tookie was an active member in the Crips his whole thing was how physically intimidating he was and for me Jamie Foxx just didnt have what this story needed and this is a story that deserves to be told. I had to buy this film after reading the book, as anyone else who reads it will, but don’t expect much more than a badly made visual representation of the book that assumes you have a lot of background knowledge on his life.
