I bought the tick remover after my friend's dog had one attached to her. It looks well made and easy to use. I hope I never need to use it but it's small and light so can carry it my bag when we go for walks..

I stayed with my daughter, dog sitting for her whilst she is away. The dogs like walking in long grass, and they pick up a lot of deer ticks, so a good tick remover that is painless is necessary to ensure the tick is completely removed without discomfort to the dog. Unfortunately, the loop failed to remove the head of the tick, so I had to use tweezers which caused pain to the dog. However; the twist removers that were included, removed the ticks easily and without any discomfort to the dogs. Would I recommend the loop tick remover? NO. But, I do recommend the twist removers which are easy to use, easy to reach difficult places (inside ear canals etc) and virtually pain free for the dog.

I have used this type of tick remover before on my horses. It is good as you can pull through a winter coat to remove them. The added bonus of the two smaller removers is good.

The first time we got a tick on our Schnauzer, I user regular tweezers and made a right hash of it. Tore the tick in two, and had to deal with a squirming pup to get the head out. This little device made removing our second tick a piece of cake. I actually ended up using one of the free 'scooper' tools, but hooked it under, twisted it, and out came the little bugger! Thoroughly recommend.

Pulled tick off of dog. Simple to use and ok in crevices. Turns out we had one before, so this can go in the car now.
