First time I nearly give up on it, thought it a waste of money but got the mix right and it was great. pointed up a load of Indian stone I found it better to load gun from nozzle end, if you have to shake dispenser to get mortar out then its too thick ,mix the mortar well until creamy ,if its too thin when you come to use it water will drip out of the nozzle end so put your finger over nozzle until you get to your job thus avoiding staining

This unit allowed the water content of the cement to leak from the bottom of the tube without any pressure being applied, and on squeezing the handle compressed the cement so hard that the tube became blocked without any cement escaping from the nozzle. Having tried various mixes of cement and added soap in the mixture to allow easier excess of the cement, I found the unit to be a waste of time. I throw it in the bin after trying to unscrew the main cap at either end when it became so compressed that I could not remove the end caps.

A temperamental piece of kit - difficult to get the mix exactly right and then the mix can still stop flowing so you're having to regularly empty and refill the tube. However.... for time consuming pointing of awkward rough field boulder stone walls it definitely speeds up the process.

I've had mixed results using this gun. The problems seem to start if you have any amount of sharp sand in your mix. Regardless of how sloppy your mix is, the plastic plunger jams against the inside of the aluminium gun. Once jammed, no amount of trigger pressure results in mortar being ejected. By the time you've remixed your mortar to suit and cleaned the jammed gun, you may be better working with a trowel. I found that if you put a lot of PVA in your mix, you can get better results, but too much PVA will of course change the performance of the final results. This product should be shipped with a tough rubber grommet so that the mortar can be pipped easily without jamming.
