SIP products are superb. They tend to last a LOT longer then most kit and I have owned many over the years to prove that they are the better value in terms of durability left in a garage a decade, power's up just fine carries on working as if never stopped so all good This particular product is designed to do bigger welds and is very well made. Its still only a domestic model with the option of higher voltage switching. Luckily theres a screw that once set will stop you flipping the toggle t o 400V on a 240v outlet! I tested mine out, got it new and it really worked well offering a decent bead without any real issue

About 2 years ago, I decided to 'retire' my SIP 130 welder after 38 years sterling service: (I have put it in our loft). I naturally went for a SIP again, this time the 140amp, and since my shed has a 30A sub circuit supplying it, used a 20A switchfuse and industrial plug mains connection. The unit is great, the work that it has already done, brackets, etc, I have no problems with it. The only thing that I don't like (but this is me) is the electrode holder, but I bought a screw one off ebay and swapped it -- simple! A GREAT MACHINE FOR HOME USE.
