Since I am one of the tiny percentage of people who still have a CRT (41", it's a giant and cost an absolute fortune back in the day, but I still prefer the image definition to most LCDs), I needed a unit that still had a composite output, such as this one. Almost no other current machines do. Did some very thorough research and even borrowed a friend's unit before committing. I use all the on-line facilities (youtube, iPlayer etc), USBs, DVDs (the unit is Blu-Ray compatible of course but wasted on me!) and media streamers from my servers over my home network. It's a great little unit, sleek and modern looking with great functionality and simple menus. Love the touch sensitive blue glowing buttons on the top. It's very easy to set up and have run it on a wireless and wired network with no issues. In fact, the unit can cope with higher bit rates than my network could (initially) transfer! There's not much to dislike. I'd prefer to be able to fiddle with settings (image output etc) whilst watching a film on any media rather than having to come out and go back in, and the image scroll on iPLayer is painfully slow. But, that's about it! Incidentally, I had also tried last year's 'Best Buy' winner for this product category. That was back in the box and on it's way back to Amazon within 30 mins! Compared to this unit it was clunky, old fashioned (even though it's newer) and had an interface similar to Teletext in the 90s! Definitely re-assured on my purchase and am very happy with the product. I'd happily recommend.Read full review
This a smashing machine. Bags of space on the hard drive and stunning 3d. Internet no problem as it picked up my wi-fi with no problem. If I had to be picky I would say that a second tuner would be useful. As it is you can only do one thing at a time which for me is not a problem as I have a sky box which is hd and has twin tuners but if this was your only machine and you didn't have a freeview telly then you might feel a bit miffed. The only other gripe is I haven't found out how to record series, if it's possible that is. Other than that I'm very pleased with it for the price.
well its a good player and 3d is very good to.the colours are a bit over done meaning skin tones can b a bit orange but blacks are good.a little calibration should short that out.im runnig it on the le46c750 so the pic looks great.im useing the 7.1 audio output in my arcam av50 which sounds good but not great.a good buy for £200 pic8/10 sound6/10 3dpic8/10
i bought this blueray player after seeing one on show in a shop the film Avatar was playing on it and the graphics was out of this world. but after buying this and watching a couple of blueray films that stared human actors instead of animation it realy lets its self down as the 3d is no where near as good as when it's animated, That said for the kids and family veiwing it's as good as it gets. starts playing quickly easy to control and also plays poor quality dvds very clos to full HD marks out of ten = its got to be a good 8 would i buy again = yes
WOW what a fantastic product! I recently purchased a 50" 3D Samsung television and as my old DVD player was not a Blu-Ray I new I needed a replacement if I was to get the full impact of the 3D. The modern sleek Black look of the Samsung BD-C6900 Blu-Ray player moulded itself into my new black television stand and as soon as you switch it on the blue touch buttons are almost willing you straight away to get a cup of coffee, put in your new 3D film, relax and enjoy. I would thoroughly recommend this product to anyone.
