I spent months trying to choose a new camera. I wanted something that was a point and shoot, small but with changeable lenses something with a good price but had all the additional settings that I like from my old pro DSLR. I had set my heart on a Sony Alpha A6000 but the cost where just getting out of my reach even at second hand. So some research later I found to my delight the Sony Alpha NEX-6. It has a lot of features that I love, including the built in eye piece and the ability to switch of live view / back screen and as I'm not a pixel junkie the 16.1MP was more than enough for what I wanted it for. I was lucky enough to get a good condition second hand one with the PZ kit lens which has surprised me how good it is and as I have a selection of Sony E Mount lenses I'm looking forward to what it can do!Read full review

Super lightweight and portable as with any mirorrless camera and packed full of features. I was originally shopping for the a6000 but I found the nex 6 and in 2019 (entering 2020) this is incredible value for money. The software can be limiting in the functions that can be assigned to the buttons and it has nowhere near as much flexibility as a newer Sony but it's still really good, much better than a touchscreen. Something really important is that the lens mount is loose, this is a common problem with early Sony e mount cameras and should be something to be aware of.

Superb camera that has been taken on safari to the Serengeti and achieved great results when combined with the Sony E 55-210mm lens.

Absolutely fell in love with this camera. This will make you dump you entry level DSLR for the size and overall usability. Compared to the NEX5, you get the absolutely stunning EVF, integrated flash, sturdier and more comfortable body design, and a non-touch screen (compared to the awful resistive touchscreen on the 5) and the 16-50 kit lens, which is decent, and good value for the kit. I tested this camera with the 16mm, 18-55mm, 30mm Sigma, 50mm 1.8 and the 55-210mm. Also tested with vintage MD and M42 manual lenses, and only have the best things to say about it. Sometimes the menus are a little weird to use, and not all my SD cards worked in the camera. So that was the down for me
