Iv'e had this lens for about 5 years and it has given good service but it does have it's pros and cons. Firstly the cons, Unless it has the original 1:1 'matched adaptor' (supplied from new) and as seen in the photo, this lens will only give a 1:2 result. The lens being manufactured around 1994 means adaptors are now almost impossible to find (I have one:) ) The Auto focus operation is not the best, the noise from the motor as it 'hunts' to acquire a target is similar to a cement mixer under load and eventually it gives up. Manual focus is also tricky as you wrestle with the notchy focus ring. Best results are achieved by fixing the camera and moving the subject into focus. Once you are familiar with the quirks of this lens you will find it gives great results and on a cropped sensor camera, without the 1:1 adaptor, the 100mm becomes 130mm and take nice portrait photosRead full review
