I tried that stupid natural lure from a Pinterest post. It doesn't work at all. I made up the recipe earlier this afternoon. Hours later, the Spectracide I ordered online happened to come in the mail--I wasn't expecting it until Monday. I ripped off the opening of the first bait for attaching onto the trap and the beetles were buzzing all around me trying to get to that bait! I've had the baits up only several minutes now and already the bugs are falling in the traps right and left. We've used these traps before and had great success with them. But stay away from Safer. Spend a couple $$ more on Spectracide as it works so much better. BTW, when I finished putting my baits on my bags, I checked the natural 'lures', of which I have three also, and not a single beetle was in any of those traps. That natural lure made of yeast, bananas & sugar water is folklore. It doesn't work one bit. These photos were taken 15 minutes after I put up these baits (I already had the traps up and waiting for the new lures). As you can see, they are attracting many many of these beetles.Read full review

These beetle scent lures work great. These lasted nearly 3 months in my yard last summer. Scent began to fade in late August, but were highly effective drawing beetles when first activated. I do think the price for these is a little high, but have not seen a better price then on EBay.

I have always used this product. So it does a great job with the Japanese Beetles. The packages that I received were right at their expiration date. On package had expired.

This product will not totally control the Japanese Beetle. However, it is the most effective method to reduce their destruction of my plants. I do not like using poisons on my fruit trees and grape vines, so this is a good alternative.

We are having another year off Japanese Beetles eating the leaves on flowers and trees. The bags and lures are the only thing that does any good. A very good product.
