Having used the traditional Stanley knife for donkey's years I thought the pocket version would be a good tool to put in my toolbag, so I bought one. It came with two of the straight edge blades which were ultra sharp [almost like scalpel blades] but I really needed the curved blades to "razor cut" wallpaper so I ordered a mixed pack of straight and curved blades. These were just as sharp as the ones provided with the knife and more than capable of cutting a single sheet of 80 gsm paper without damaging the sheet below, very impressive! I found the curved blades excellant for cutting wallpaper cleanly; but you have to be careful they don't climb up the side of your ruler as you will not even feel them slicing through your fingers! However when used on thick wallpaper they blunt very quickly so must be used sparingly in conjunction with a snap off blade knife. You can re-sharpen these blades easily but as they are hardened you'll have to use either a very fine oilstone or, say, 1200 grade wet and dry. These blades, in conjunction with the pocket craft knife, are certainly a worth while addition to any craft worker's tool kit as they are far tougher than scalpel blades and almost as sharp. But be careful - if your wife discovers your pocket craft knife and blades it might well dissapear as the blades are utterly superb for scoring pork skin to make crackling! If you hunt Ebay you can find these blades for around 30p each including delivery - stunning value!Read full review
